Appeals & Post-Conviction Representation

Attorney Koes routinely represents clients seeking to overturn their criminal conviction on appeal. Appeals are often complex and time consuming. They require a skilled and experienced appellate practitioner to conduct a thorough review the trial record, an investigation of defenses that were either overlooked or not pursued, substantial legal research and strong legal writing.

There are other avenues for relief outside of appeals. A criminal defendant who has been wrongly convicted may be able to pursue, among other things, a motion for new trial, a motion to vacate a guilty plea or a motion to correct an illegal sentence.

Sex Offender Registration

Individuals who have been convicted of a sex offense are required to register as a sex offender. Registration can be devasting and will negatively impact an individual’s ability obtain housing, employment and education.
